A visit to Hinterbrook Estate Winery in Niagara on the Lake - 20 July 2011

We have received comments from our readers and viewers as to why we have not been visiting the Wineries of the Niagara Region. Truth be told, we were just too busy. My broken right ankle is a real impediment.

I was out for a drive to pick up some fresh fruit at Quiet Acres on Lakeshore in Niagara on the Lake and while driving along Lakeshore and I spontaneously decided to start with a visit to one of the newest wineries, Hinterbrook.

Hinterbrook Estate Winery is a family owned and operated winery. They have a focus on quality wines that are made with a low carbon footprint and responsible chemical processes.

In the video, Phil Nickel is speaking about, the Hinterbrook Estate Winery, his family owned and operated winery.

They have a 10 kw photo voltaic installation to reduce their carbon footprint and use geothermal heating and cooling systems as well in their facilities.

We like both the people and their wines. NiagaraWatch hopes to be doing an in depth follow up of this and other wineries in the Niagara Region once we have done a cursory visit to most of them.
